During this residency, Hannah displayed some current work in process from her current project SOCRATES. The residency display featured three video works, titled: 5everity, Webworks, Meditations and F(a)un(g)us. She also included 4 audio works and background imagery.
S0CRATES is a meditation on the experience of existing as a mind inside a body, and a reflection on the elusiveness of physical pain. The human body is reimagined as a forest, with its own micro-ecology and well-worn pathways, while physical sensations are explored through sound: pitch, volume, and timbre. The isolating and durational experience of chronic pain distorts and confuses what it means to physically feel anything at all. These experiments are a work in progress, and imagine alternative methods of communicating pain.
